At S & T Aircraft, we provide unrivaled support in the aviation industry, but sometimes all the support in the world doesn’t fix the problem. That’s why we are pleased to offer component testing services to our customers. There are many things that can cause a single issue, and sometimes they are just not possible to test on the aircraft. With our testing service, you get a complete functional test of your accessories and components to assist in finding the root cause of your issue.

TESTING PROCESS

Our component testing services are much like our repair service, but do vary slightly. Component testing is carried out within our repair station and, can be shipped directly back to you, nearly anywhere in the world, usually within the same or next day. As with all of our services, when we receive your components, they immediately go through a preliminary shipping damage inspection. That way any damages can be assessed. We will immediately contact you with any damages due to shipping so that you may file an insurance claim with the shipping company.

Then depending on whether your component is electrical, mechanical or hydraulic, one of three things will happen. Hydraulic and fluid components go into our teardown department to have their fluid flushed out of them so that we can keep any contaminants out of our test equipment. Electrical components will get a preliminary inspection prior to testing to identify any bad parts. Mechanical components can be immediately tested and checked for any issues.

From there, we reach out to the customer to determine what the issue is that they are experiencing. This allows us to check for specific things that may not come up in normal test procedure. From there we will perform the test on the unit being sure we take great care in identifying any issues that could be causing the undesirable functionality on the aircraft. If an issue can be identified in the component, the accessories will make its way out to the shop floor where the repair is accomplished. From there your unit is reassembled, tested and shipped back to you.

Whether we are able to identify an issue or not, we always take the time to reach out to our customers to let them know our findings. If we are unable to find any problems with the component, we go that extra step and assist with the troubleshooting and make some recommendations for the next place to look in solving their issue. No matter what the issue turns out being, we’re always happy to help.
